I have no clue why my brake light is coming on...?? The fluid is full, the e-brake is all the way down and the pedal felt fine, all my lights were working... so I just drove it to work... about a hr later i started her again and the light was gone...???

It's happened twice in the past week...??? What gives... thnx.

Hrm. Dont know about your 7 but mine is a 81 and the only time the dash brake light comes on is if my parking break is engaged. Its there to tell me to take it off before I try to drive I think. My brake light has absoultely nothing to do with the actual braking system. Just the parking break.

I had a similar problem with my RX-7 about a month ago. Every time the car idled or dipped below 1500 rpm the brake light came on and after coming to a complete stop it went away. I think something to do with engine vibration sloshing teh fluid around.. I never figured it out. But I topped off my fluid to the max and I haven't been bugged since.

Double Check your float and top off the brake fluid to the max. If it doesn't go away I'd say its electrical; probably your emergency brake light switch is sticking.

I don't know what the difference is between the '81 & my '82 but. my brake light doubles for the brake system and parking brake.

As 7springs said, your float may be sticking because the light will come on for low fluid levels.

Or i suppose if could be your parking brake sensor switch sticking a bit. so maybe check that too.

If everything works i would worry about it. if something goes wrong with your brakes, that little light will not help much lol
