being rebuilt

well guys she bit the dust! my 12a has a major internal water leak so its getting a rebuild and a port job. I will be taking pics and stuff as it is done. it will be performed by glen at Arizona rotary rockets in Tempe, AZ. Its gonna cost 2300. i also found my vac leak, it was the two front intake bolts the were finger tight some how. i will also be painting the engine bay. give me some colors idea to paint it. when i come to seven stock she will be a metallic gunmetal gray or a darkblue.

I'm looking forward to your thread! I've heard some good things about this shop, but nothing first hand. Could you ask Glen if Paul Yaw taught him how to mod. a Nikki carb? I emailed him once about it, but never heard back. What port job are you getting?

measure them and find out. specs for rotors can be found in many places. start by cleaning. also mazdatrix sites faq has some good info.

cuz i mean the rotors have alot of carbon so get that off. Check for gouges and chunks missing. Measure all the seal slots. Check for chrome flaking on the housings.

Get the video. Very common DYI mistakes out there, so 2 sets of eyes, even rookies, are better than one. At least one could be reading the fsm and watching the other. Ready, study, measure, measure, read again, take pcitures of every step of your assembly. At least with pics, if you think your screwed up, you can always look inside without tearing things apart.
