Beefing up timing...

From doing some quick searching I hear 24L and 16T is the magic number. But I don't hear anything about fuel requirements for those settings? Or power gains.

What tye of gains can one expect from bumping the timing up that much? And will it require 91+ octane to make the motor happy with the timing that advanced? Will this greatly effect idle as well?

Thanks

it helps. idle will only be raised a little so just lower it from the carb. you'll notice the peppiness from raising the timing instantly hahaha

how exactly do u go about doing this. Cause i did my gsl the other day and it felt weaker. and i was turning it the right way cause the idle was going up. how do u set the leading then trailing 24 and 16?

That explains how, just not what type of gains to expect or fuel is necessary.

So what kind of garins would I expect on a stock motor, and what fuel will I be using?
