Battery in passenger Storage bin.

Okay, I want to put a Battery in my Passenger storage bin. I would like to have nice Optima battery in there, but the cost is prohibitive.

I also have a brand new Marine starting battery 850CCA that I would like to use.

My question is, how can I propery vent it?? and if my Haltech is mounted in the bin also, is there a chance that it might be damaged from acid vapors or something?

Get a battery box from Summit or elsewhere... hydrogen gas in your car interior can lead to an inflamatory experience

Yes...
Youve spent nearly a grand on a Haltech for performance.. I say it would be worth saving up 100 for an Optima for your own safety

I just bought a taylor NHRA approved battery aluminum battery box.

It installs by mounting it by drilling thru the floor and bolting it from underneath the car and it has a special hose which vents the interior of the box aswell as drains the acid if the battery was to burst.

$150 canadian

An Optima is the way to go especially in a closed compartment as susceptible to rusting as the storage bin. That was the main reason I swapped to an Optima in my Fiesta. The battery had been relocated to the rear spare tire well area, and there was mucho corrosion that I had to neutralize with a baking soda/water slurry.
When the alternator quit charging recently, I ran the car for three days on just the Optima's charge before I replaced the alternator.
