battery cables

How do I remove the battery cables from my car? And I don't mean how do I disconnect them from the battery.....don't flame me!! I need new wires and I cant figure out how to remove the positive wire from the car. I'm not even really sure where they lead, I cant see them after they go under my engine.

Positive is hooked to the starter. Should be a 12mm holding it on.

The negative should be through the long starter bolt, a 14mm holds it on.

My negative goes to the engine/tranny bolt right under the oil filter. Have I been doing it wrong all these years?

It doesn't really matter. As long as it goes through a bolt to hold it to the engine its fine.

The postive cable runs directly from the battery to the starter, on the back side to a screw post with a 12 mm nut on it.
The negative runs directly to the long starter bolt, but it also has a ring connecter that connects to the engine compartment wall. You can see it if you stand by the battery and look down along the strut tower.

anyone else move the battery to the back? cleaned up the engine bay quite a bit. if i can get ahold of a digicam i'll post pics of it since ive never really found a decent site with one done without the use of reallllly expensive battery boxes.
