CA the bad thing about having a nice car

Just painted the rx7 looks good!!!!!!!but the car is know strate and flawless well almost lol. but the bad thing is YOU HAVE TO KEEP IT FROM PEOPLE yes people is the #1 reasion cars are not nice anymore. case and point people come up eww nice car and then thay rub it like its there cat!!!! rubbing dirt and dust into your paint like sand papper. or you park it and some fat *** parks close to it and hits your door with thers cuz thay cant fit out of ther car. o anthen there is the check taking on her phone in the parking lot who runs into your car.

i can agree with that. since i bought my RX-8 it has had 7 scratches in it..all from careless people hitting it with things. it also lost a parking lot scrap with a shopping cart..someone pushed the cart into my 8 several times...

hell I have that problem in my own driveway I got scraps on the back and sides from my sister dead beat friends that don't give a crap about a car(because 97% of them dont drive). They will let the purse's go across the car and they are the rockawear ones that have the metal on the sides and some of them have over sized chains on there pants so you know that part or the one thing I freaked about on of them had the roackawear purse with metal on the bottom and the slid the purse on the hood of did I ever yell at them and said if I ever see anything on my car or hit again I will take my golf club to there head. But they are dead beat dumb f's they still do it when I am not around. The same thing on my civic. I painted the car a week ago and they had the purse on the hood and pulled it off and left a mark. But they are lucky I did not see them do it.

My RX-7s have been keyed, coffee has been dumped on it, egged, kicked (and dented) and a gallon of house paint was dumped on the hood/fender.

My RX-8 has so far only been keyed.

One reason I sold my M3, It was absolutely perfect and I was afraid to park it anywhere or get a rock chip from driving behind someone...

Now I am gettin a widebode installed and new paint, I really hope I can relax a bit.

CLEARCOAT! When I painted mine I had them put 8 coats of clear coat on. When it gets a few scratches you can't stand, wet sand it with 1000 and then buff it back. Works like a charm.

Also I can't remember what it is called but if you put what is essentially a tape on braw on the front and allong the doors you can replace that once a year and it really saves from rock chips.

First week out of the shop last year and some housewife in a Lexus opened her door on my fender. Dented the fender and busted the sidemarker.

Indeed show cars are too hard to keep clean, every time you see a new scratch or ding you have a minor stroke, so now I'm all about function and not looks. On the way to DGRR my wife was in front of me pulling a trailer(a little piece of mind) and a big chunk of the wood flew off(termites in the wood) and put a crack in my windshield.......really didn't bug me since my car is not perfect

Those won't do anything, my best friend's wife still managed to ding my door with her Honda Accord.

This thread has me thinking of roll on Herculiner.
