Back in the saddle again after 20 years!

After a 20 year absence, I’m back in the clerb 😂

had to make a new profile as I have no idea what email the first profile was linked to.

Some pics of the car I just bought to get me back in the saddle!

1985 GSL-SE
Fresh rebuild on street ported 13BREW fitted with 48IDA Weber

Welcome back!

What was your old name? Maybe the mods can help you get your old account back.

The car looks great and has some nice performance and aesthetic items.

Old name was GTRay
I tried several times to reset but figured it's been lost to the ages. I wasn't a very prolific poster but had been around since almost day 1 after transitioning from the "Big List" email server in the late 90's.

I LOVE the aesthetic of the car - its very vintage Group C without the larger flares.

The body has its war wounds and battle scars. I specifically did not want a virgin specimen as I have plans to ramp up the power and add my personal touches cleaning it up and restoring certain "luxury" items.

Phase 1 of the plan is to return it to EFI - i'll be trying to source some FD manifolds and throttle body. I'll need an FC CAS, Haltech, injectors, ignition coils, and a wideband.
Phase 2 is going to be bumping the power - upgrading the fuel system, adding a turbo, intercooler, and appropriate exhaust
Phase 3 will be addressing creature comforts like AC and Heat, some better sound deadening, and maybe a little better stereo

I am considering an RX8 6spd trans and installing a dash/center console from an 81-83 (i prefer the looks of that interior) and fitting an RX8 gauge cluster - the dash and cluster are the most ambitious goals and may not materialize - the trans is a higher likelihood as i can find a way to utilize a GPS speedo.

How did you install the targa band, did you drill the top to hold it in?

I bought it like this. It does appear to have screws fastening it to the sheet metal.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't see the screws from the pictures which is why I asked.
