Talking Back to the 1st gen section, again!!

Yesterday I bought myself a 1983 Mazda RX-7, I don't even know what trim it is because the badge is missing but I think it is a S model. 2 years ago I had bought a 1985 RX-7 GS and had a lot of fun with that car but I didn't really modify it because my job then sucked and I lost my license in that car. Well then I found a 1988 RX-7 Turbo II for $500 dollars, the turbo II is a nice, good condition car, and I got it running 3 days after I bought it (leaking fuel injectors). Eventhough the turbo II is very fast I still think the 1st gen is just as much, if not more fun. Anyways, this new 1983 model needs a carburetor rebuild I think, the guy I bought it from put one of those fram universal electric fuel pumps in it, but he also got a fuel pump from the junkyard (which I will put on). First step is to try and find a working starter or just the starter solenoid because it gets stuck all day long. Anyone got a starter for a manual 12a? (I'll put it in the for sale section later, now off to work.) I'll try to put up some pictures maybe sunday night or something, gotta borrow my sister digi cam.

yea i probably will sell it (the turbo II), but even then i will miss it. it is really nice, but i need to do some work to the t2, it has a few minor problems, if I did sell it I'd want to get my money's worth out of it. pm me if your seriously interested. hopefully pics to come soon, right now im still cleaning it and working on it. thanks guys, in the 1st generation section im not really scared to be scolded when i post something. lol

S models (base) don't get a badge... So if there's no holes in the rear where the badge would be, then it's probably an S

The '83 S has manual mirrors, two spoke steering wheel with the holes in it and no sunroof.

Whenever you're looking for a starter, just make sure you check to see how many teeth the one on your car already has. There are 8 toothed and 11 toothed starters out there for our cars I believe....so just make sure you're getting the right one.

I've got a parts car out back but I'm not sure what condition the starter is in....

actually my 83, right where the badge goes, has had some body work, but i found out its a GS model when looking through the repair receipts and owner's manual, BTW mine does have power mirrors, electric hatch and gas door release, three spoke steering wheel, although no sunroof ):
