Has anyone tried B&M's new oil cooler?

Looks like a decent replacement and can be had for ~ $205. I currently have a frontmount rx7 cooler, but it's too low for the fan to work on it, and my temps slowly creep up while stuck in traffic to around 190-200 and I'd like to keep it cooler than that.

 

The stockers are still the best.Better flow and higher mass.

Try putting a couple 3" computor fans behind the stock cooler.I wired a couple up to my rad fan so they come on when temps get high.My oil cooler is also up front behind the header panel,away from the main fan.My oil temps stay under control now,even in stop and go traffic.Cheap,easy and they draw less than an amp.

Guys, bear in mind that hot oil works alot better than cold oil. Most oils have an optimum operating tempurature that's not far below the maximum operating tempurature. If I recall correctly (from a Carol Smith wirtting) most conventional oils work best @ ~ 240F and synthetics are typically around 270F. If you're only getting up to 200; you're WELL within the safe limits. Don't worry about it.

We are not worried about the Oil. RB says to keep the oil Temp 180 to somewhere under 200.

 

I remember someone posting a setup like that but they were using two of them. May have been a year or more sence I seen it.

 

Like Hades said, we're not worried about the oil. We're worried about the Oil Temp. If I recall, a crap load of engine cooling comes from the oil itself. Overheated rotaries tend not to fair well.....if they do, say farewell.

 

190-200* is ok. Don't start really worrying till you see 220...
