Axle Size

What is the Size of the Big Axles in the 84 85 cars? I have an unknown and would like to mesure to see which it is.

you mean the axleshaft itself? **** i dont remember exactly but it was about 2mm larger than the 83 and older. maybe 24 mm i think

The shaft or the hole in the Diff. I just need to be able to mesure and know which one I have.

Would be nice if I had one of each to mesure.

OK Matthew, I just measured the SE axle I've got sitting in the garage. It's 26 mm if you measure from the top of the teeth on the spline, 24 mm if you measure from the bottom of the teeth. And of course it tapers out some towards the outside to about 34 mm just before the wheel bearing.
