Awesome 79 Find!

So I came across this beauty today. What would you pay for it? I'm guessing it has about 137,000 miles on the original motor.

So, is that an automatic JDM '79 sitting in Idaho somewhere?

That's pretty neat.

The mirrors are what grabbed my attention. When I went to go ask how much they want for the mirrors I saw that it was a 2x2 right side model. There is a little cancer from what I could see and its an automatic ...but its a right side driver. I guess she got it shipped over from japan 8 years ago and was stored for 6.

Depends on if they know what it's worth.
Offer $250.00 and see what happens.

From what the mechanics told me she is already up side down. This last bill totaled $1,100, I have no Idea what she had done. I doubt she will take $250 for it, her mechanics keep telling her she needs to sell it because it is rare...

This is not an awesome find but it may be worth it at the right price. Its not
running, has rust, has the wrong wheels on it (I think) and its an auto.

I would say 500 max. It doesn't matter what she's into it for, its what someone
will pay for it. That someone is you.

What would you pay if it does run "T G Farrell". It is a running car and I was wondering about the wheels as well. I do like the back seat though.

Keep one thing in mind "Rare does not mean expensive", toilet seats from pre-1925 are rare.....doesn't mean anybody will give any money for them. It may have some goodies you (or many others) may want..... but the market is very limited for those goodies.
I'd go low and be ready to walk.

That depends on how well it runs. If you test drive and its really smooth, no issues maybe worth another 250 or so but really, it doesn't look that good and its been sitting.

$500 at the MOST if its a running car. Check craigslist.org, there are tons of old RX's on there. You can go to http://www.allofcraigs.com/ to check the whole nation in one shot. I'd recommend getting an 84-85 since you havent bought anything yet. It has the bigger rear axles, bigger front spindles ect. Saves you having to swap everything later if you chose.

edit: just noticed rhd, might be worth more but if it was me, i still would pay 500 max

hehe, yeah, what the car is worth is highly dependent on where you live. We get kinda spoiled in cali, there are lots of first gens here.

I am interested in the car and I have the contacts in ID to have it shipped to texas. Additionally I have the resources to ensure that it is done right and not raped into a POS not that anyone on the forum would do that..... BUT.... it doesn't deserve to be turned into a weekend autocross car or rice stickered drag car.
