Autometer Tach

I have installed an autometer 2 5/8 inch pro comp tachometer in my 84 se. It seems to work fine, 3100 rpm in 5th at 60, 3800 rpm in 7th at 70 etc. I still dont feel totally confident that I hooked it up properly. The way I did it was to put the signal wire on the negative side of the leading coil and hooked the rest of it up per the instructions. Has anyone done this, and is there a better place to connect the signal to the tach. Someone also mentioned to me that I might need to use a tach driver for rotaries. Like I said, the tach works, I'm not so sure it works spot on though. Any help is appreciated.

Thats should be a good spot to hook it up to. This was just brought up. You can hook it either to the negative of the leading or trailing coil, doesn't really matter. Then follow the instructions for a 4cy car.

i have a feeling that's a typo, and it happens, so I'm prettysure that evita does not have a seven speed car, and it was a slip of the finger from the 5 to the 7 key!
