Automatic Tranny

How do the autos hold up in the first gen? I am looking for a 7 for my g/f and she does not want a 5 spd

i have an auto and lemme be the first one to tell you, it sucks no kind of acceleration of the line and its just boring. mines has been runnind pretty strong though i dont even have a vacum modulator and it still shifts pretty sweet other then that its ok

My aunt had a '85 4spd auto. The tranny lasted 130,000 miles then required a $3,000 rebuild (I told her not to do it!) She then drove it to 198,000 miles with no other problems, then it was sold.
