Autocross prepping my GS
I'm going autocrossing this Sunday, and I was just wondering, for those of you who have done this before, is there anything I should do before I go racing?
you're from lincoln, NE?? i live in omaha!! i was a senior at prep last year, but im going off to college this year. i drive the red/orange/brown/bronze - ish colored 84 gsl-se, you may have seen me around. have you ever been autoxing before? what mods, if any, do you have done to your car? the best way to be prepared for an autox is to walk the course 2, 3, even 4 times in the morning before the race starts, so get there early, around 9:30 or 10. you can't drive well if you don't know where you're going. if you don't have adjustable shocks or anything, then just take everything out of the car. you can play with tire pressures too if you feel like it.

Awesome, thanks. No, I've never been autoxing before (mainly because of my mom), but she finally agreed! I currently have no mods on the car, except for a custom cold air intake made out of dryer hose, aluminum foil, and bailing wire.
So, will you be there this sunday? If so, drop me an email at kc0abh@hotmail.com.

no duct tape? what the hell kind of mod is that.
get a dial tire pressure guage with thumb air release from autozone or equivalent (roughly 10 bucks). go there with your tire pressures at 35. then after the first run or 2 bleed down to 31/30. from there drop pressure in accordance to how the car is behaving: pushing or tail happy. pushing= lower rear pressure a few psi, tail happy= lower fronts. make sure and ditch the jack and spare tire. if you want lose any insulation like the big rear mat. you will also have to take out your floor mats. make sure that the battery is tied down well and everything is in good working condition. take something to drink, a hat and sunscreen as pavement is an oven. other then that have fun and try not to kill too many cones. i believe you will run in the c stock group since you don't really have any mods. also take shoepolish to put your number and class on your windows or electrical tape and put it on your doors.
