Question auto trans shift improvment

I'd like to get an idea if there's enough demand for me to make some tutorials on auto tranny shift improvments for RX7 automatics and if there is what specific transmissions is there interest in. If there's enough interest I MIGHT consider setting a site up detailing what can be done to get your tranny shifting much firmer and faster than stock.
Keep in mind these changes will not be for the mechanicly declined or inhibited they will involve disassembly of the valve body and in some cases major re-work of the valve body and electronic controls to achieve the desired goals. I can even go as far as modifying the transmission to handle more HP and torque by modifying the internal transmission components for those that feel like they have the ability to disassemble the entire transmission.
Remember this will be no small task and will take some time to setup and document all the information so please give me some feedback as to if there is enough interest.

I voted no but should qualify. The stock autos are POS.

Unfortunately I've had horrible thoughts of putting a 400-500 hp cosmo in with one of them Ford C-4 auto trannys-uhhhhh--shivers at the thought.

I've never felt the Rx-7 stick trannys ever shifted good--especially if you're in a hurry (out of the 3 I've had).

I voted yes, though I dont have an auto I would like to see what all is possible if someone decided to go that route. I am sure that alot of people would be interested in these mods for whatever reason. Even if you made a simple shift kit (however simple is up to you) I think you would be able to sell them as it would be a very nice possibility for those of us who may have an illness, or anything else that may prohibit them from using a 5 speed. I remember someone on here was talking about changing their 5 speed to an auto. Not sure of reason.

I am thinking he is talking about a simple shift kit to heavy modification of the whole assembly.

Yes I would like to do a shift kit modification before the GRM 2005 Challenge.
Any chance you can send info as an email attachment?

Best auto shift improvement is to swap in a standard.

This would be for all RX7 autos and I won't be making the kits I would be offering instructions on how to make the modifications yourself. If needed I can offer it for just about any automatic made. You gotta remember some people can't drive a standard transmission because of physical limitations or lack of coordination so should they be deprived from getting performance from their cars?

Nah, I guess an automatic with a rotary is better than no rotary at all...

Actually an automatic is very suited to use with a turbo. You can build boost at the line and no spool down at shifts. The trick is to beef the auto so it will live under this treatment. Low 10 second quarter mile with a K car 2.5 turbo AUTOMATIC. With the RX7 RWD the launch should be even better.
Will a three rotor 20A adapt to the first gen auto?
