auto meter tach for a rotary?
And what's wrong with the stock one? Sorry, it's a personal thing, big tachs sitting on the dash look like hell to me.
Any tach that can be set for 4 cyl. will work with the rotary ignition pattern.

Nothing is wrong with it. I wanted the shift light mostly and I wasn't planning on putting it on top of the dash. I was going to mount it under the passenger side slightly out of the way but still in sight. Thats how i mount all of them. Just wanted to know how to set up the wiring on the tach and if anyone has done it before.
if you engine isnt built for the higher rpm's, then the stock 8k tach is PLENTY. Remember, high revs dont always mean more power.... Redline should not be ignored. If all you are after is the shift light, they sell LED shift lights that can be disguised easily without butchering the stock wiring.

apprently no one is going to give you a hand.. Just check with the maker of the tech. Check there website and have them email you some diagrams. I am not sure but the car that I had bought a few years ago had the stock wiring into the back of the main tach butcherd and the aftermarket model was wired to 4 wires.
I just did one yesterday (with MSD), green - positive side of coil, I used leading coil. Instructions say use negative, but we weren't getting any pulse from there. Red = power, black= ground. WHite = power.
Another issue I had with MSD, I was getting no tach signal out of MSD. I didn't wire it up, this is a new car to me and I had to move on to other issues. I'll get back to the MSD later. Tach and shift light seem to work fine for now.
