Atkins VS. Pineapple

Ok guys, I am getting ready to order a rebuilt engine from either Atkins or Pinapple. I was hoping you guys could give some advice on who to go with, the engine is not for racing just street use. I would like to know anything you have got on either company, quality of rebuild, quiality of parts/labor, anything and everything.

From all the stuff I've heard about Atkins recently, I would definitely go with Pineapple. They have an exemplary reputation.

Talk to Adam at RX-7 Specialties 403-246-6980. Tell him that Will recomended you call.

These guys do excelent rebuilds. I have spoken to many satisfied customers. They don't cut corners and Adam's level of workmanship is hard to beat, plus their prices are the best around. They are in Canada but after shipping and duty it is still cheaper. They built my race motor and Im very satisfied with what I got.

They use all new rotor housings and seals and they are not a stop that cuts corners. Which many shops tend to do, plus they give a 12 month warranty.

Call Adam for more info, you will not be dissapointed.

I have an Atkins 13B with street port in my 90 vert. About 5k on it. So far it is great. Plus it has 24 month warranty. I have not found a better warranty yet.

I have also heard outstanding things about Pineapple. And if your interested I know where you can get a factory mazda engine at a price that is more than competitive with the above mentioned manufacturers.

win or lose?

I live in the Northwest between Atkins and Pineaplle. I see guys racing with both engines. I see the Pineapple guys win more than the Atkins guys. I Hear less complaints from the Pineapple guys then the Atkins guys.

I'd recommend Atkins. I've got 14,000 miles on my new engine (stock port) and it runs great. They've also got a great warranty - 2 years, 24,000 miles.

Do a search specific to the Northwest Forum for "Atkins"..

Recent developments at Atkins are rather discomforting.

I will highley recommend PIneapple!! I know Rob personally and know alot of people running PIneapple motors on the street and race. Never heard a complaint.

Rob backs up his work with a 3yr 36,000 mile warrenty even on the streetports....

I can't beleive that you could compare Pineapple to atkins. Rob also has a 5yr 60k mile warrenty....lets not forget about that.

Just do a search on bolth names, and see who comes up with more negitve comments....Well, thats not fair, as Rob does'nt have any negitive comments about him. CJ
