Directfreak thats why i am wanting to hear from people with this intake the lake cities was the pick of the litter in the 80's.
slowautoxr do you like it? Have you tried other intakes? Do you have pics of it installed?
Jeezus the 1 peice intake rotaryshack sells is a version of the assie's intakes may be event a true assie intake. Racingbeats 2 peice intake has its good sides and bad in my opion.

I have an Atkins wraparound Weber style manifold. It's got the single worst casting job I've ever seen on a product that someone sells. I refused to use it. I can't describe how terrible it is but I could do a better casting job by iggin a hole in my backyard and filling it with molten aluminum. I even tried to give it away for free at a local club meet but no one wanted it after they saw it. When you can't give a part away for free, that's bad! I've seen the side draft and in my opinion it's no better casting wise. Dave told me a few years ago that it's a known performer but I don't really care what the claims with it are. When you sell a product that is that poor in terms of quality, I have to believe that the results quoted are going to be against other pieces of similar quality. I am cutting my manifold up and melting it down into an aluminum brick so I can use it to cast a new manifold someday in the future. Yes I have access to a small foundry and know how to make molds. That's the only way to make those manifolds worth a crap as far as I'm concerned. Dan if you're reading this, sorry. You confronted me about this 3 years ago at Sevenstock as I've stated this before and you asked for advice and feedback on how to improve them but I haven't seen anything change. When the guy that casts them (not Dan but he introduced me to him) admits he wouldn't use one on his own car, that's pretty convincing as well. He stated they were intended for aircraft use!!! What do you do when your engine dies? Do you pull over at the next cloud? If you wouldn't use one on your own car, DO NOT sell them for aircraft use!!! I still think the Atkins people are very nice and friendly and I have nothing bad to say about them. I just don't like their intake manifolds but that's just an opinion.
The RB intakes are night and day better in casting quality. They and Mazdatrix both also sell the IDA downdfart style manfiolds as well. I personally believe that this side draft style of manifold leaves alot to be desired. The runners are too short and get a bit close to the strut tower. This isn't really a problem in an airplane or race car though. The runners don't split off in a nice smooth turning radius to the outer ports. They literally are just a sharp angle each end which isn't good for flow. These manifolds should really go the way of the dodo. Just because a couple of companies still sell them doesn't mean there isn't something better. In this case, there is.

I have a genuine Lake Cities intake manifold on my rx7 and it's great. The casting is much better then Atkins shorty - lots of crud and small inconsistantly sized runners on the Atkins shorty. The LC manifold is short and the runners to the outer ports do have a quick 45* bend but I can tell you that the throttle response is absolutely phenominal. My air filter fits right ontop of the passenger frame rail and does not hit the fenderwell. It is a fit.
The motor really wants to rev. I made more HP and the same torque with 37mm chokes and LC manifold compared to 39mm chokes and Racing Beat manifold.
The RB manifold has two sharp bends and fuel pools up in a few spots.

I believe that your final fuel filter should be before the pressure regulator, not after. Nice looking setup thou, very cramped. When the engine flexes doesn't is squish the filters against the shock tower?
