Question atf question???

Last week i flooded my 84 GSL. I did the old ATF trick (took out the plugs, cranked moter, put 2 teaspoons of ATF in the carb etc. etc.) However, after doing this, my acceleration has dropped quite a bit. Is it possible i damaged the compression? If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the problem, please, please, let me know.
( note: This problem only occured, AFTER the car flooded and i did the ATF trick)
thanks!

atf is just supposed to strip the carbon off of the seals.. so i donot see how it could cause damage like that.

Did you replace your plugs after the atf?

they're easy to get to so i would just pull and check during routine maintenance. 2 teaspoons of atf is like nothing.

very true. did you disconnect them? if not the atf plus previous clogging could have really clogged them.

you could throw 2 teaspoons of atf in the engine while its runnign and it wouldnt make much of a diference,
i've seen it done.

so atf is definetly ruled out here,

why did the engine flood in the first place???

are you sure you did not damage the engine prior to flooding and the reason it flooded is because of a loss in compression?

and then it finally cranked cause you changed the plugs after the atf,and the atf was helping to keep the motor clean while cranking.

it all sounds very possible to me,

I don't exactly know why it flooded in the first place. I did, however, have to pump the gas once or twice before it would start, prior to this problem. ( -35 C makes starting a little tricky) Odds are, thats how i flooded it. I didn't change the plugs until the day after i fixed it. I didn't seem to have any problems prior to the flooding, except my oil pressure gauge. That, since i bought the car, has always dropped to almost zero when the car is at idle.
I really hope thats just my oil pressure sending unit!!!
Other than that, no more problems prior to flooding.
