the ATF in the engine thing
the ATF in the engine thing
is this something that will help my car out even if its running ok? and can someone go throught the steps on how to do this.......I'm still a little un-clear on how to do it. and I take it this is something you don't want to **** up.
It will help any rotary, it helps restore any lost compression and helps break up carbon deposits in the engine even if they arent hurting the engine, yet. there are a couple ways to do it. I did it by take off air cleaner, disconnect fuel pump, disconnect gas lines going into carb, disconnect plug wires, have a person crank the engine while I poured a bunch of MMO or ATF down the carb. After you do it you will need to replace the spark plugs, the MMO of ATF will foul them, but leave the old ones in while you run the engine to get the last bits of it out.

If you have a 13B engine, take out the plugs like and do what coldy said with the plugs. Since there is not carb, you will have to inject the ATF through the spark plug holes. Do both leading plugs and you should be golden. This works especially if your 7 has been sitting in storage like mine has for the last 2 years. Also, to prevent carbon building up, don't use the high octane fuel. Use 87 or 89, preferable Texaco since they use detergents in the fuel that burn off really well and reduce carbon buildup. If you live in higher altitude like I do, (Midwest; Rapid City, Denver, Salt Lake etc..) the 87 octane at sea level is the same as 85 at a higher altitude.
