argh....stutter at low rpm
hey guys,
this moring i get up to go out..and car barely moves..coughing and stuttering etc..backfiring like crazy etc., idle is a little lower than usual...
so...sigh..since i missed my appt. anyway, i open the hood and find my battery has come free of its moorings and is resting on the distributor....and there seems to be battery water / acid on the plug wires etc..
so i tighten up all the plug wires, (one coil was loose) shut hood, go for a drive....
now, no problems after 2500 rpm, car accelerates smoothly and nicely in any gear..lower thatn 2500, missing and backkfiring like crazy...
i checkd for loose plugs etc. hoses...none i can see....
any ideas?
Paul

well, the rotor seems intact, but old, and the cap...the points inside seem worn out heavily.....which is probably a god place to start..but i just cant figure out why it started so suddenly....
also, spark plug wires have battery acid on them.....is it a good idea to replace em?
