Anyone running an Atkins Side mount kit with an S4 or S5 alt?
Anyone running an Atkins Side mount kit with an S4 or S5 alt?
Im having issues mounting mine. The belt hits the distributor. I know a lot of people run the Pineapple one. But if anyone has the Atkins version installed and functioning (with the belts on), i would love to see a picture to see whats up.
Here is how mine is now.

I've never liked these kits. I did'nt realize until I installed mine, but my pineapple did the same thing with a FD alt. Also the whole point of this thing is to get more belt contact on the water pump, but you moved the alt 90* resulting in the same amount of contact that was on the water pump is now on the main pulley. You still get belt slippage above 6000 rpms. LAME! But it looks pretty and it moves 4lbs a little lower in that chassis, so I guess that's good. With an s3 alt I had bout 1/4" of clearance by the dizzy.
hrmm. I would really hate to have to run an S3 alt. I would much rather have the larger amperage. For now, the front belt in the double sheave will work well enough to just get the car running. BUT i would love to have a permanent solution.
My thoughts exactly!!! If you ran a longer belt, it will change the pully/alternator location to a lower spot. Looks like you have plenty of room with your adjustment.
