Anyone remember this commercial?

There is a quick shot of the back-end of a black 1st gen; filling up at the gas station
The voiceover was going on and on about getting married, slowing down, yeah right.
I think it was for Mastercard. Aired a few years back.
Who else has seen RX-7 cameos in commercials?

I remember that one - it couldnt have been more than a year ago that that was a regular commercial of thiers. As for other cameos you can see quite a few on Seinfeld when the show the view of the street in front of his apartment. Or in Pulp Fiction at the part where they drop off the car at the junkyard - there's a GSLSE in the background on one of those car hauler trucks. There's more - I just can't think of 'em right now.

LoL, The Fall Guy!

I remember they had one in their garage where they got lots of the stunt equipment. It was a GS, I think gold or maybe silver. Been 15 years or more since I saw that. I for some reason was thinking it was an 82. Anyway, I think the camera showed it to show off but they never drove it to my recalection.

I was watching Absolute Power, yesterday with Clint Eastwood.
And there is a part where his daughter is going to meet with him in some cafe or something with outdoor tables, anyway, when they show the area where they are going to meet from a distance, they show an RX7 parked on the street like 4 times from different angles.
It a first gen, no sunroof, dark blue in color, can't tell what year it was though.

THere is one in Die Hard 2 i believe when the thugs are going to nakimoto tower or whatever the name of it was. It shows it going down the road in front of the Ryder truck or whatever it was when they drive down into the parking garage...

Talking 7commercials

Hey guys do you remember the commercials with James Garner? He used to pull up to his house in one. The other was he was on a hill in an 84 GSL and two hot babes pull in front of him in the new GSL-SE. At least thats how I remember them. There is also an old film which I tried to find but is discontinued where the star is an RX-7, it's call "Smokey Bites the Dust".

I do remember the rotors in F&F. A little off topic though there is a third gen with a 99spec bumber on the meguiers (sp) fully synthetic wax. Good wax too. I guess you have two quality products right there in the box.

Ever see Colors with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall as two cops in over their head on LA's gang task force in the 80's? In the scene where they chase the crips after they shoot up a blood funeral, the camera pans ahead of the getaway car to show the most well-preserved RX-2 I've ever seen (it's yellow). The car of Crips (a big-*** late-70's LTD) completely smashes it as it turns the corner.

2Fast2Furious' first street race had an RX-8 in it, does that count? Ya, I rented it (the video, not the car). It was supposed to motivate me to do the rebuild install. I did the install anyway.

Greatest line: "the garage has all the best.... snap-on tools..." Does any commercial garage not have snap-ons? Says something about rx-8 owners. ROFL!

That was the only cool thing in that whole movie.

On the History channel last night I was watching Modern Marvels. It was a show about glue and adheasives (us old people watch that kind of ****) and there was a highway shot and I spotted a Yellow 1st gen. Thanks to my DVR/TIVO, after I shouted to my wife "hey thats a 1st gen in that shot!", I rewound it and sure as ****, about .05 secs of a yellow 1st gen as it drives by.

Oh and

Oh and

you know you are a first gen owner if you can spot one in just .05 secs on tv.
(also can be re-written as "you know you really need to get out more")
