Anyone paint their stereo & shift boot surrounds?

My stereo surround/bezel is cracked. It's not huge, I think it's repairable. I was thinking of epoxying it & painting both bezels/surrounds black - the interior is black & grey.

What do you guys think? If anyone's already done it, pics??

Check out that thread, nice discussion of interior improvement and lots of good pics. Several people have done some painting.

Very easy to do - I used a black laquer and clear coat - I also had a crack in the stereo surround and used a wood burning tool to mend it.

I have a maroon interior and I painted the center stereo consel with the vents, air control dials, and consel around the shift boot on my FB. I did it for two reasons, it was faded, I was putting in a new stereo that was black and I wanted it to match, and finally thought it would look more modern in the car.

And you're happy with the black look? Since everything else on my dash/console is black, I think it would look better.

I made a alluminum insert that covers the entire center console and stereo surround.

It was actually very easy to do, and it made mounting the speedometer and some other guages alot easier.

looks trick
