Anyone one Road race, Hill climbs or SCCA. there RX7's on here?

Hey I have been out of the racing for some time and getting ready for next year with a RX7 road race and Hill climbs and SCCA, in Oregon, Washington, Cal, I was a member of the EECS, and race at Portland international raceway. Just looking to see what’s new in racing for next year and in your area. Hill Climbs are what I will be doing most this next year. Never raced a RX7 yet but so far is one of my favored cars. I will be running a custom very wide aluminum body 1 gen, For the Hill Climbs will be running 16x14 front wheels and 16x17 wheels on GTU Bridgestone tires. Just hoping to beat all the times by a landslide. Oh here is a photo of my stockpile of Race tire so far. 365/30/16 or 280/600-16 FR, and 440/45/16 or 350/680-16 RR, Really like to get to know people in the biz again and make some new friends : ) it was so much fun back then. Was in a bad car crash over 3 years ago and glad that’s over with now.. Talk to you all soon

Hi and welcome. Those are some monster tires, my little 225/50/13 ITA tires are jealous. Who built the chassis? Is it an old IMSA car? Im in the SE-DIV SCCA.

No just a replica IMSA GTU car back in 1982. Still have to drive you to Seattle Washington to put it on a car hauler to bring it back home. Defiantly after Thanksgiving and all of these birthdays are family has right now : ) the car is just a shell right now.
Similar to this 1979 and 1982 IMSA Mazda RX7.

I love road racing.

auto cross is very cool but it just doesnt have the high speed that I crave.

My car is mainly a street car, but I have gone hardcore on the cooling, intercooling and oil cooling on the engine.

I plan to race in the Targa Newfoundland in a few years when the car is ready to race. Its about as close as you can get to legal street racing.

Thats purdy What class will you be running that racecar in... Unlimited? Keep a rotary in it so you can go GT-2/3?
Its so cool at PIR.. you can be racing as soon as you land at PDX
Closest roadrace track here is 2-3 hours away
