That would be Scalliwag of the DFW Drunks...my kinda guys, though I've yet to do a CityStreets on Thursday with this crazy crowd...just raced with some of them in November at MSR, so far...

 

Well whatever this "new featured car" is, it's stupid. It doesn't even look as good as the red one that was up there.


My opinion.

 

The new featured car should have been anything BUT a second gen.

 

i reckon AdrenalifeRX7's rx7 is very nice.. and even his car is better than that new featured car..

 

I've seen the car at a shop before, it's very nicely done for a poor man's Porsche....regardless, go to the home page and look at the total volume of threads and replies and you'll see the 2ndgen crowd owns everyone else here, 1stgen or 3rdgen, in sheer activity. I'm sure that's why they get the featured car and we don't this time....

 

The featured car on my monitor was the new white one, but now it's changed back to the same old red one. Not that it much matters.

It just pisses me off that we've been seeing a 2nd gen up there for like two years now, and finally they get the featured car working again and they put another ******* second gen!

I'd even go for a 3rd gen at this point, but obviously our section of the forum didn't have ANY say in what car was put up there... How do they choose it anyway? Do they just ask the 2nd gen section guys which of their cars should be featured.

We really should have some rules for how the car is picked. If it continues to go on abitrarily then how will we even know how to get our car to be the "featured car"? Right now no one knows if it's most origingal(well except that one because it's not), best looking, or most performance. Maybe we should mention some rules to someone to level the playing field.

 

I just hope it's changed every month.

 

Funny. No matter what generation is up there, the other two generation groups whine.

 

Has there ever been anything but a 2nd gen? Guess I haven't been around long enough.

Meh, I'll be surprised if a 1st gen gets up there as featured car. It seems to me that if we had a 2nd gen up there for two years the least that BOOSTD7 could do is put a 3rd/1st gen up there.

There was a red 3rd Gen as the first car, then the red 2nd Gen if I remember correctly.

 

Yeah I would definitely go for a 3rd gen. 2nd gen's aren't bad, hell I have one! But it's been up there so long. Perhaps we can get the ball rolling for the future with a poll in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sections for "should the featured car be changed monthly? yes no".

Maybe I'll start a poll in each section.

 

it'd be very simple to add a script that would have a 'car of the month' for each generation section, with one of the three randomly displayed for the lounge and other sections

Yup I'm with Manntis on having a different featured cars for the three sections, but I'll bet the powers that be won't have it.

 

And another thing, can anyone tell me why the featured car on my computer at work is the white one while the featured car on my computer here at home is the red one?

when was the last time you cleared your internet temp files and internet history?

If you can't remember, then that's probably your reason. Your home comp has the red car cached as the image that goes there. I'm willing to bet that the *name* of the image never changes, just where it points. So clear your temp files and your history and you're good to go.
