Anyone know a reputation for Gabriel shocks/struts?

Well that's pretty much the question. There is a full new set on eBay cheap. I was wondering if they're worth a bid.

Thanks,
Brian

I just bought a pair of plain ol' gabriel strut cartridges for my 84 GSL from the hated AutoZone... they were just under $60 (with tax) for the pair (front only). Are they performance shocks? of course not... but $60 for the pair of front ones WITH a lifetime warranty. I'm happy with 'em.... so that's my $0.02 worth.

I have Grabriel Pro Ryder premium gas shocks. I'm very happy with them. Then again, I have not tried super high performance expensive ones on my car so my experience is limited.

I JUST replaced my worn out rear shocks with the cheap Gabriels and my rear wheel hop is GONE. Bear in mind that I went the el cheapo route just to pass inspection. I plan to upgrade springs and shocks in the future. But these sure do beat the worn out original AAS shocks that were on there. The originals had no resistance (compression or expansion) whatsoever. (PS: its an FC)

I just put new Tokico blues on the 85 ($150 on ebay) and what a difference! Great shocks.

What exactly is everyone feeling as far as "Difference"? Im really wondering if I should change mine, but I dont want to spend money on something that wont be quite noticeable. Is it stiffer on turns?

On my shocks/struts, I could compress them down with my hands easily and they wouldn’t come back up until you pulled up on them...it was definitely time for new ones.

For the $150, I would go with the Tokicos. I have Tokico Illuminas on my second gen vert. They are wonderful.
Of course, I have Eibach's also, makes a huge difference. That big heavy sled corners better than my SA with the stock suspension.
