Anyone else unable to fit in a FB w/ leather seats?
my cloth seat FB i have i can fit in just fine. But my other one with the leather and that extra adjustment, i can fit confortably what so ever. My head is in the ceiling. Im 6' 1" and 195 lbs. Why the hell did mazda have to make the leather seats 2" taller?!?!

These cars were built for small Japanese people, what do you expect?
Lowimpedance, I feel if your uncomfortable with those leather seats and they happen to be brown and in excellent shape. You should send atleast the driverside to me so I can test it for you and get back to you later.lol
By the way I am over 6' 1'' and I just recline them.

This is a great subject. I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs, and the 2-way cloth seats are fine and they are my preference. But the 3-way leather seats and 3-way cloth seats are a little uncomfortable. I have an extra set of leather seats, so I'm looking for an upholsterer to remove the old foam padding and replace with thinner progressive compression foam so as to remove 1-1.5 inches while retaining comfort. I suspect that the hardest part is thinning the seatback padding.
I've tried stretching the "S" springs under the seats with a crowbar without much luck.

It's a problem for me. Just a +1 post.
Personally I think the cloth seats are a bit tight and I'm only 5'11".
I have an 85 SE. I sat in an 83 before I got mine and it was practically cavernous. It had no sunroof, but it _had_ to be more than that.

haha I so glad this post came up! I'm 6'2 and I have to lean my seat back and the worst part is my thighs are basically up against the bottom of the steering wheel!!!!
my leather seats though are also almost perfect so it's hard to justify getting rid of them
anyone want to trade?

I am 6'3" and my wife is 6'1" and we don't have problems with the leather seats. My main concern is getting my legs under the wheel. I have thought multiple times about a smaller one, but stearing is hard enough in a parkinglot without P/S.

I had a nice pair of 2-way cloth seats a few years ago, but I gave them away before I needed them.
Anyone figure a way to lower the 3-way seats? I believe there is room between the seat and floor. I've tried stretching the S springs with a crowbar, without much luck. I have a pair of leather seats that require mending so I'll have the guy take out some foam at the same time and maybe replace with newer better foam. Has anyone tried that? What's really required is to change the structure since the seat/back pivot point seems to be moved forward and upward from the 2-way location.

6'3", 220, '85 GS, cloth 2way, I sit more upright than in my FC. More headroom than I could believe. Plus my knee doesn't turn on the windshield wipers. I do think my seats are pretty worn down though.
Has anyone put FC seats into an FB? I have a minty set of TII seats (in gray no less) than I want to transplant.
