I got the ones from E-bay and they fit and work fine.

 

I got mine from Mazda - about the same price after you consider the e-bay shipping - plus they're OEM. I'm only mentioning this in case you didn't realize Mazda still stocks them

the a1 ones work great no leaks air or water same pins as fac ones. the fac ones not availabe here sp order no delivery dat and much higher price. most dealers here get the a1 ones.

 

I bought my door seals from E-bay and they work just as well as the stock seals.

 

I bought a set of the 1aautomotive from ebay and put them on my '85 about two months ago, they work great, went on easy, and NO LEAKS.

 

OK....the eBay company is 1A Automotive and they're the vendors for Metro...the seals have a 15 yr warranty...I installed a set that cost me $45 total off of eBay, if I remember right, just this afternoon...definitely one of those "box on the shelf for a while" kind of projects that I finally got around to doing. Quality was superb and details tell you just how good this is. The clips have a definite step, so you push until you hear and feel the click and that's it. No worrying you pushed too hard and you're pinching the rubber. Also, and this was really neat, left and right hand side pieces are identified by a single dot of color on each piece of weatherstrip rubber. Sure, you might have had to do some sailing or boating first to understand them, but for me, there was no doubt which was which. For all the landlubbers, it was...passenger side=right side=starboard side=green dot and the driver side=left side=port side=red dot...an excellent example of out-of-the-box thinking from Metro.

 

As it turned out, we had rain today in Dallas, so I got to see right off the bat if there was a sealing problem with the new seals at 80 mph and there aren't....FYI

 

the two door weather strips from Victoria British fit really tight.

So tight that I wish I didn't use glue.

OEM didn't use glue.

Damn glue made it harder to get the door weatherstrips to go on.

 

I would say go with oem mazda set or victoria british, because thaone I got from a1 on ebay did not fit perfect and I they are leaking.

 

I was looking at the ones from mazdatrix.. which one do you actually need to re-do a whole door with new stuff? I'm guessing you'd have to get the window channel, inner and outer seals, is that all? what about the "windshield trims"?

 

The windshield trims are the metal strips that cover the gap between the body and the front windshield glass. You don't need those to redo the doors.

I'd like to redo my seals (and the windshield trims for that matter) but they are so expensive I can't really justify it.

 

too expensive, I agree, then I saw what the depreciation on a relatively new car is.

So I thought about BMW z3's. Guess what, they were reviewed against a Miata.

Hell my stock FB is faster than a miata!

So $100 on left and right weatherstrip is nothing. Or you can go to Home Depot, and spend $8 on window weatherstripping. And spend the other $92 at the strip club.

but, i bought the ebay ones for about 60 bucks, passenger is perfect, no leaks, soft, real nice, the drivers side however fits really well, there's only one spot right under the top of the door, but it only leaks a small amount when i wash my car and aim at the top part of the door, other than that no water gets through....

my excuse for this is that i started to redo the seals about 1hr before i had to be at work, and well i took my time to get to know how it worked and sealing it really well, i started with the passenger side first, so by the time i was doing the drivers side, i had to hurry so i wouldn't be late for work :P
