Anyone bought those new door seals on ebay

Just want to know if anyone has bought the door seals advertised on ebay all the time. If so do they fit perfect. any problems?

Ludicrous 01-30-04 05:03 PM

Glad you asked, I was going to post a thread on the same thing! Are you talking about the ones that are $59.99 for 2 (both sides)?

Wankelguy 01-30-04 05:40 PM

Hey, I wanna know too.

LongDuck 01-30-04 05:44 PM

Mazdatrix - a little more expensive, but you know they'll fit right! Mine really fixed a lot of drafts that used to come in from around the broken and chipping old rubber.

Snap them into place and suddenly the car is watertight again, and on top of that, the ride is so much quieter.

Bite the bullet - you're worth it,

Ludicrous 01-30-04 06:04 PM

Victoria British has them for $39.99/side, too. Everything else they've got seems quality, don't know why these would be any different. Still, that's $30 more than the e-bay ones...

RoyFifo 01-30-04 06:07 PM

They leak both water and noise.

I have a set of them on my car, and will replace them someday (Soon).

as LongDuck mentioned, bite the bullit and go with the MAZDA ones from mazdatrix! i also reccomend the hatch seal! i just installed it on my 80 LS. what a world of difference. quieter, less fumes, no moisture.

I got the ebay ones and they fit perfect. The rubber is spongey soft and seals fine. I can take some pics tomorrow if you guys want

If these are the ones from A+ or something like that, I have to believe they'll work good. I've bought some stuff for CBird from them off of eBay that were perfect and factory correct, which is saying something for repros of 1968 Pontiac weatherstrip....I have the door seals for the '83 RX-7 from them and they're going on tomorrow...having used a set from Hiley Mazda and also Mazdatrix in years previous, it will be intersting to see how these compare...

rx7anator 01-30-04 10:52 PM

mine from ebay work great...no problems just riped old ones off..put new ones on and took it out and sprayed the bit with a water hose...no problems

Are you talking about the ones from ebay or Victoria British?

I have the eBay (a1automotive) seals and I have found absolutely no fault with them. They fit PERFECTLY and seal the door well.

riofrio 01-31-04 10:09 AM

So are they pretty easy to remove and install? Will I need any glue or anything?

Very easy. It'll take ya 15 minutes per door. The instructions say to use a 3M weatherstrip glue which I did.

KenGVR4 01-31-04 03:19 PM

The seller name on ebay is www.1aautomotive.com just so you guys know.

ray green 01-31-04 03:25 PM

I got mine from the guy on ebay a few months ago, before they went up $7.00. They work fine, easy to install, now I need a set for my 84.

It was for the streetported engine, all the suspension, and the stereo :D

Seriously, I have no idea...cool sticker though. I bought the car from the original owner who was very anal, obviously. If I had to guess, it was either the alarm system he put in or GSL alloys he bought for it, as it came originaly with the steel GS wheels. Here's another shot:
