Electric windows stopped working, please help.

Hello

Both my electric windows have stopped working. It started first with the passenger window. It was due to a faulty switch. Now they have both stopped working. I opened the switches and cleaned the points well and it didnt help. Can anyone tell me where I should look? I have checked my fuses in the fusebox under the dash and they are fine. Where else could the problem be? Whats the easiest way to get the window up now? I wish I could go to a manual setup but I cant get a hold of one from an earlier model rx-7 over here .

Thanks

Do you hear any clicking from the motors when you try left or right switch? Still odd that both would fail (other than fuse).

i recently had the same problem with mine. it ended up being a bad ground. i simply just cut into a ground wire and ground it to one the 10mm bolts under the center console. after that, it worked!!

If you have a multimeter, have you tried checking the continuity between the switch plugs and the connections to the motors? Look at the wiring diagram to find where to test.

Maybe better would be to test the switches for continuity first to save you from opening the doors up.
