seanrot has a blowthrough with an ida carb, i know its been a pain in the *** for him, trying to find parts, and whatnot, but apparently it runs like a bat out of hell, if it were me, i would stay away from the ida's

You just need to change to a plastic float. Other then that it's the same as any other blowthrough.

describe my setup, jeez thats a tall order. Wait look in my sig some of the things have changed but for the most part its the same.

drivability is good no problems starting, once you learn how. Only thing that was a problem was working out all the gremlins that you have almost everytime you start one of the projects. Once all those were solved she ran good till i got greedy and went to 12lbs boost, could feel the engine slowly dieng after that, kept getting harder to start then finally she wouldnt start anymore. But thats the result of a 122,000 mile motor with boost added. At least its not a heavy car to push. I have another car that im moving the set up to which is in the pictures below. but that is coming alone slowly do to it being HOTTER THEN HELL outside.

seanrot,

the thinking goes as follows :

first do the easy stuff eg

(a) fit turbo manifold
(b) fit turbo
(c) fit front mount intercooler
(d) fit piping to carb hat and to turbo
(e) tap front cover for oil line for turbo
(f) sort out return oil line
(g) replace fuel pump with high pressure pump
(h) fit boost referenced fuel pressure regulator
(i) fit boost gauge
(j) sort out water flow/return line for turbo

my questions are as follows :

1) what brand/flow fuel pump/regulator did you use ?
2) any mods to the ida for boost prep ?
3) what to do about timing ?
4) on the turbo motors, there is a tap above the front housing trailing plug for a knock sensor. have you hooked this up in some way (as a way of monitoring/preventing detonation)
5) how do you monitor fuel/air for rich/lean ?

also, can u please give me an idea of the issues u had/still having

thanks

Most of your answers are in the text of the picture. The Boost prep was just a new set of gaskets, and a polyuerethane float (very hard to come by) I did have the fuel inlet for the enlarged to get more fuel in, and added progession hole, and the fuel capacity of the carb increased buy having the wall inside the carb milled down to an open area in the carb. I believe wackyracer has a picture of this mod.
I dont have the turbo motor just a normal 12a so I have no knock sensors. No issues now all solved. but the list was timing off, FPR broken (that was a bitch to figure out), did i mention timing off? and finding the best fuel pressure to run.
timing is set at 10 degrees advanced
