They are about $20 less than the A-1 seals.

The A-1 seals are good, I've used them for years. Worth the extra $20 if the AM edges wear off like the VB ones. But from the picture the AM seals don't look too bad. Do they have the clips?

A company? lol. A-1 seals are a brand commonly found on ebay. High quality replacement. Bout 79 IIRC, but last longer then VB/BD.

Seems like an appropriate thread to tell my little story.... When I was building my first FB a few years ago I got the A1 seals, they leaked like crazy, and no door adjustment I did could remedy it. So I decided to just bite the bullet and buy Mazda seals from Mazdatrix, they took a bit of adjustment and "seating" to get to seal, but worked great and still do.
Fast forward to a few months ago on my current project (the T2 83) this time I decided to just get the Mazda seals and avoid all the headache, or so I thought... Only one or two of the clips lined up on both doors, and they were a few inches too long! I had bought them several months prior to installation and didnt want the hassle of trying to return them so I drilled new holes to accomodate the clips, and shortened the whole thing to make it fit. The whole process took hours more than was needed, and my driver door leaks! I'm still fiddling around with it trying to fix it..
Not sure if that does anything for anyone, but just goes to show that all seals are not created equal....

My 1As fit perfect when I bought them about 4 years ago. Since then they have been in continuous use, installed and reinstalled on three different GSLs. The clips align perfectly and they are easy to pop out but still hold the seal tight without glue. And after 4 years of steady use they still look like new.

But I need another set for a GSL I want to coregister, so I was wondering if those AM ones are any good? I see the shipping is different for AM and 1A, so the difference is really only about $10, probably not enough to matter.

"Price is comparable"

Huh? Mazda prices aren't comparable to anything. Are you sure you are comparing the price for two?

I think Mazda charges about $50 (US) each.

i bought this exact kit http://cgi.ebay.com/Mazda-RX7-SER1-S...713.m153.l1262

they are a bit pricey and shipping was mad bank but in the end, the total cost was a little savings compared to buying separate rubbers. plus its mazda oem and fit flawlessly.

have good customer service even from another continent because i got the pedal rubbers that didnt fit and they sent me the correct ones pretty quickly

To put a different spin on it, is it really worth saving 8 bucks to find out that the AM ones are crap?

My review of 1A is good and bad ... first time i ordered them through their ebay store, and one fits good, but the other side was a bit too long. The second set that I bought from them though were from their website and they fit like a glove. So i think they're inconsistent, or maybe they sell them on ebay for a bit cheaper for a reason ?

I got the A1 ones from ebay a couple of months ago. They fit fine and are easy to put on. They could use a bit of adhesive around the doors but since I may want to remove them later I didn't use any adhesive. Both sides fit the same, maybe I was lucky. At almost 50% of the price from BD or MTRIX its a good buy.

Seems like there is a lot of inconsistancy with these door seals... Some say they are great, some not. I even had problems with the Mazda brand ones as detailed in my earlier post....
Sucks we can't agree on which brand is best to get, they all seem to have some possible problems...

You should use a weatherstrip adhesive glue on there to make sure they're always seated properly.

The best fitting seals are only as good as a properly adjusted door. Even though people don't think there are ways to adjust the in and out inconsistantcys of the door from top to bottom, go talk to your local body shop and get some "insight". The doors on my Turbo FB probably fit better now than they come from the factory. As far as my chioce of seal? The A1 fleebay ones for me .
