any other 1979 Limited Editions still alive?

A few pics of mine

the original E6 code "Beat Black" metallic paint was painted over straight black. Not sure if I'd like to try and get the E6 code matched on a repaint . Has anyone has seen the E6 paint in new condition ?

Why would you not take it back to the original paint?

You go with what makes you feel good man, these cars are pretty and fun but aren't terribly valuable yet, and probably wont ever be extremely collectable, but that is the chance you take, besides you can always change it back....

By the way what is diferent about the 79 LE

Wow, looks nice. How do you drive with cups right there? I need that room for my arm to shift.

you should paint it back to the original color, get a new oem shift boot and just bring the car back to what it looked like in its glory days. the LE is a rare and amazing machine!

very nice ... are you sure that is the original E6 paint ? Can you ask your DAD? The reason is I can see the E6 paint in my inside door hinges and its looks a little more "smoky" black instead of a deep basic black because of the metallic . Your dads looks more like basic black ?

A better radio ..LOL , thats a good one , the 5 "push button preselect stations still work great. I'll have to use that as a selling feature if I ever part with it . I was going to take the Clarion cassette player apart to fix the pulleys with some rubber bands ( to play my old ZZ top casettes!!) but think i'll just get an FM transmitter and an Ipod to really make it a better .

it has a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift **** that they sold as a feature of it , but that might be carry over from the other top model line in79. The glass moonroof might have been a US issue on the LE .... Canada got a metal moon roof.

The interior is in good shape, The Orig Owner had been doing a restore and had gotten the interor done. I dont really have any plans for it right now, But I will get to it in a few years. My other early car is on the schedule before the LE.

See Below.

I have 2 of them both rescued, I have seen 4 more that got crushed though and i know of one that was a true Pacific Avatar it sold on ebay a few years back, I have a spare set of Rims and a few other spare trinkets for them. The funniest part is I bought a 1980 with many of the 79 LE parts on it years ago then a few months later found the LE that all the parts belonged to.

Up to a few years back all of the interior parts and badging was available for the 79 LE as it shared many parts with a J-spec special edition.

The glass sunroof was a dealer aftermarket option on the SA/FB it was not an official factory part. It was so popular that it became one of the dealer add on parts that could be bought with the car.
