Any FB'ers in Kuwait? No? Then I guess I'll be the only one

Oh happy, joyous day. It really wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so ironic. Yesterday I put in for my college drop to end my Army enlistment a month early and start back to school in the fall. It got approved yesterday. A friend's getting married in May and my leave for the wedding got approved today. He called today and asked me to be his best man. To top it all off, my oldest ex (and one whom I dearly love) asked me to be her little girl's godfather.

Tonight, I picked up my orders to Kuwait.

Sure I'm happy to go, but I just towed the FB 950 miles to Kansas three weeks ago and now it needs a home, along with the Dakota.

So, do they make air filters good enough to take the car with me and make her into a dune buggy, or what? Anyone seen an FB lift kit? Should be fun.

Don't get me wrong, I really do want to go, just Dayum! Sometimes God strikes you as funny, sometimes it seems he's a smartass.

Hey, I've been in country for about a month now. I gave the keys to my FB to a friend that I can trust and he drives it for me once in a while. I haven't seen any first gens out here but I've seen a few second gens. There alot of old skool skylines and z's running around that I see sometimes when I'm traveling between the camps.

Well, I wish fd-less luck and a safe time, nobody deserves to die. But in regards to the peace loving hippes, what an ignorant comment! Are you a total idiot ricola? Do you think that Saddam is a threat to the people of the US? Of course not you fool, the only reason the Bush administration has intrest in Iraq is $$$$, good old crude oil (Iraq has the second largest reserves on the planet) on the other hand the US has **** all for oil, thier reserves peaked in the early 70's. I for one would not risk my life so that greedy yankee's can drive SUV and other gas hoarding tanks to the office.

will hogan- your views are those of the majority of the world. There is no evidence to support the Bush position, an administration who controls nearly 80% of the world's weapons of mass destruction. Those Iraqi did have prior to 1991 were given by the US so they could attack Iran on behalf of the US.

The last US invasion, that of Afganistan was a clear breach of international law, some 12-15,000 civilians have died and now we are back to the drug war lords being in power.

However, I believe the forum should be politics free
and comments left to a more appropriate web site

I don't know about anybody else out here but I know that me and the rest of the guys I'm with don't give a rats *** about politics. All we're worried about is getting back to the states in one piece. Also somebody needs to make a decision about whats going to happen out here because the longer they take to make a decision the longer we have to stay out here. Anyway, I would also like to know if there is a certain way you're supposed to store a rotary because I found out that my friend thats watching my FB might end up out here also and I don't want to go back to a car that won't run.

This is a comment made by those that are unable or unwilling to think.
If OIL was the issue, why didn't we go ahead and take it during the first gulf war? Even if it was, so what? Wars have been fought for centuries over land, water, and other resources.
Sorry to change the subject of the thread. I'm Done!

The USA is justified and should invade Kuwait, and establish a democracy. Its a slave state run for the benefit of a dictator and his family employing underpaid imported labour who have no rights. Good luck to all servicemen and women who achieve the liberation.

Yeah, I might be one of those with 29 days (should find out soon) before I hit the sand. How do I put a rotary away for a year?

Thanks for your service, I appreciate it greatly.

As for storing the car, I stored mine for 3 years with little preparation, but when I took it out it had a growly transmission bearing. I guess some condensate got to it. Maybe a really filmy additive would have prevented that problem.

For years I have travelled away frequently to places sorting out medical services after wars. I solved my time in storage problem by having my girl friend now wife drive the car once a week. Not just round the block but a minimum of 30-60 minutes to get everything including the battery working.

Its always great to be met at the airport by your favourite car and driver!

Yeah, but my family's from Atlanta and I'm stationed in Kansas. We're shutting down the whole post, so there won't even be a friend to drive it. My worry is the seals seizing/rusting against the housings if any moisture gets in. Short of putting Sta-Bil in the tank and running it as dry as possible. Are there any common failures associated with extended storage? Hell, how 'bout some shoot-from-the-hip guesses at what might help.

Ricola, you are such an ***! You KNEW you were gonna start something with such a moronic statement.

You self rightious can o' crap! This kid's going away and is gonna be in harms way, and he's talking about what he should do with his RX-7! It's what we ALL have in common here. And you had to go and invite an arguement. You never even thought about how the guys being shipped off would feel having to read statement written out of anger that do NOT support the war or Bushes effort.
You are SELFISH. Take yer soapbox and suff it up your ***.

And lemme tell ya- This IS worth getting repremanded for just to tell you that!
