Any FB'ers in Kuwait? No? Then I guess I'll be the only one
I know you guys have been around here longer than I and I'm sure there's history, but I'm not worried about soapboxes or commentary, really. For those that don't like what your Soldiers, Marines, Sailors and Airmen are doing on your behalf, realise that we're going so y'all don't have to. We don't question why. We don't whether it's a popular war or not. It just isn't an issue. That said....
Can someone please help with putting away the car? It can't be driven while I'm gone - it just can't happen. I'm debating pulling the plugs and turning the engine while spraying a light coat of WD-40 or someting into the chambers. Any thoughts?

Hey kiddo, been there done that (USAF '68-'88, Vietnam '70-'71). Thank you for what you're doing.
As far as your car, best thing is to put it up on jackstands so you don't get flat spots on your tires. Add some stabilizer to your gas. If you can't have someone crank it up every now and then - well you can't. Don't worry about it. When you get back, change the oil and filter. Some say it's a good idea to drain the gas and replace it with fresh - I dunno. I never do it.
Sometimes, when I'm on the road, my SE sits for up to 5 months without being started. It usually fires right up when I get back.
Oh yeah, disconnect your battery.
And one more thing, not wanting to start a pissing contest, I still have to say to disregard the opinions of those not in uniform. They have no earthly idea what they're talking about. They won't understand it until someone dumps poison gas on their heads while they're enjoying pizza and beer in front of the TV. Then they'll **** and moan and wonder why the military never did anything about it.
Good luck, kiddo. Wish I could go with you - and that's a fact!

Yours is going to be parked a little longer than mine ever is, but mine gets parked for 5-6 months out of the year. It gets pulled into the garage and there it sits. I just take it easy for the first couple tankfulls when I pull it out. Disconnecting the battery is a decent idea, but mine's still connected. Needs a jump in the spring, but other than that it starts right up and runs just fine. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Well, it looks like I was just overreacting, then. Apparently these little gems don't need any special care, though I plan to burn off most of the fuel and spin a little ATF through the rotor faces with the plugs removed before I leave for good. Thanks for the help guys.
BTW, I'm changing my ID to Critoris seeing as I've found true love with the FB and don't plan to be harping on my FD loss on the forum.

just because a country isn't supporting your President's decisions doesn't mean we're peace-loving hippies, it just means that maybe we can think for ourselves, and decide when it's NOT a good time to get involved...
Also, Australia, Canada, etc haven't pissed anyone off really, so we don't have much to worry about poison gas killing us while we're eating pizza and drinking beer in front of the tv...
so tell me why we should get involved in helping with your country's screw-ups?
Anyways... I think this discussion either needs to die, or the thread locked... I'm done...
