Antenna Wiring Help

I am installing an aftermarket antenna with an aftermarket stereo and i am having problems finding the correct power antenna wire. From the directions on Jim Rothes site, he is telling me to use the "blue wire on the original Mazda antenna wiring harness." I've got that figured out since it is right there, BUT where does that wire end up? From this wiring diagram, it is telling me to use the antenna relay which is prong A on the farthest plug (blue & green). Now this makes sense only because this is the only wire on the plug that leads away from the stereo, but then again it doesn't because the guage is smaller and the color. I've tried using that wire with nothing. Could someone who's done this before please help me out? Thanks ~Gavin

the antenna wire from the deck only powers the antenna to open and close when you either turn your deck on or turn on the Radio, it depends on the deck. That way i can turn off my deck and go through a car wash, or retract it when i want to without turning the car off, which is what you were saying.

wire it up and see if thats it, and yes I believe thats how it works. turn radio on antenna up turn radio off antenna down. If your having trouble putting the two wires into one crimp, advance auto parts sells crimps that take two wires into one.

your not understanding this, i Know how to wire it up. I want to know what wire to hook my deck up to that will send the signal back to the antenna to open/close, and which wire back by the antenna to use (supposively blue). I am trying to avoid running a new line from my deck all the way to back to the antenna.

ooohhhhh I see lol. well bro! damnit. Look man can you see the stockwiring harness for the antenna? find he correct wire using a test light man.I'm not sure the color of the wire but you can find it man. Power is not going to be sent to the wires alone the way you said you hooked it up just to the harness end. Connect the wire from the antenna to the aftermarket cd player. Do you understand now man? Come on man you can figure it out.

yes i undestand this, BUT i am trying to find the correct wire to hook my deck up to with no luck, it's sposed to be the blue/green wire but im getting nothing to the correct wire in the wiring harness for the antenna. I've been using my multimeter with no luck, i'm not understanding this whole stock radio relay thing, i'm thinking i have to bypass a wire in it, but i don't know which wire. Now we're on the same track, but it would help if someone could chime in that has done this before.

so you want the wire that powers the antenna? or the wire that powers the radio? or do you want the wire from the back of the aftermarket radio that powers the antenna togo up and down? Just tell me again which wire it is again.

looks liek two harnesses one blue and red and blue and white wires coming from it, thats the power antenna motor. There is a power antenna switch that has four coming from it, bluered, bluewhite, black, blueblack , now that is a power antenna switch.

I personally think that you should just run a wire from the deck to the antenna. First of all, in the stock system, the deck provides a ground to the relay to make it switch and make the antenna work. Most aftermarket systems provide 12 v, I believe, to turn on. The stock power antenna relay has a diode in it, so you won't be able to easily make the system work on a switched 12 volts, versus a ground providing system. I hope this makes sense. Check out the wiring diagram in section 50- part H if you havn't already (I am sure you have though). Good luck.
