Question is a 1 rotor possible?

ok my rear rotor has a coolant leak somewhere internaly and fires when it wants to. the front is strong. is there anyway i can run the car on just one rotor until i get my new motor?

yes but don't plan on getting anywhere fast or having any kind of an idle or power.

.....not to mention that it's probably pretty bad on the engine, but I'm just assuming here. Physics would say that you're adding more stress to the other rotor and housing AND the e-shaft. It would be more than what it's used to and uneven heating/stress. Not the best of ideas, but if you have no other means of transportation, you obviously don't have much of a choice.

Once you get the thing ripped out and rebuilt, why not go ahead and get it ported while your at it?

well, I'd take off the intake and see if it's just leaking there... that's an easy fix. Do that, and if it's still leaking anti-freeze, use some antifreeze stop leak, but don't do that until you have checked the o-rings on your intake.

It could be as easy as that. If it's leaking internally, you can still probably rebuild it, but...

normally once it's warm it runs ok. just try revving it a bit..you'll hear the 2nd rotor start to come in and it should begin to smooth out.

you just have to wait longer for your engine to warm up before you take off...

rework your e-shaft and run a single rotor only
6a or a 6.5b

BTW do you think that a single rotor variant of these engines would still be too big for a sports bike?
