Another tail light question...

...I don't think this has ever come up but I'm sure someone will point me to the search function. Either way, awhile ago I was sitting in traffic behind a Corvette and ever since the idea of the Vette style tail lights became more and more apealling. Not really an exact replica...but somewhat similar. Has anyone tried to fabricate anything like this?

If you are talking about round style taillights then yes, I have done so. But mine are more replicated after the S5 and 99 Spec spec taillights.

Hell, that does look kinda cool. To me at least. The way I saw it in my mind the lenses looked like they were kinda set into the body. That's not the best description but I can't find another way to word it. Really just like a Corvette, that's why I was worried about it looking too similar.

How about taking the above designs another step and turn the circles into rotors?

The thought actually crossed my mind but I thought it would be kinda cheesy...pretty creative though.

How about the tails from an RX4? I've had that thought cross my mind quite a few times.

My buddies wife has old school RX tailights on her Miata.I think it looks awesome, very in tune with the classic roadster theme of the Miata. Not really my taste with the sleeker more exotic body of the RX-7.

Nah, the RX 4 tails I'm thinking of have a strange 'rounded square' look. Aside from FB tails (some of my favorite style taillights, the Accord hatch also has similar) they're the sexiest taillights ever. I guess the C4 'Vette has okay tails too. I just HATE the round circle taillights. So damned tacky.

My FB has the inner lense removed, and I put red LED bulbs to replace the white bulbs, and stuck with the stock 'smoke' of the outside lenses. Sexy *** tails.

Don't change your taillights, i think the stock taillights are the best. I love them.
