Another RX-7 sighting!

Hey,
I just saw another rare sighting of a first gen RX-7 here in my town Rockford, Illinois. The car was at Sandy Hallow road, and it looked like thewy had just bought it because it had temporary plates and was coming out of an area were there is a collector cars dealer. The car looked just like mine, Tornado silver, around the year '81.

If the guy is not already a member of this forum, i hope he will be joining us.

Let us know if this was you i saw on Monday September 20, 2004. Around the middle of the day.

I need to contact as many local guys here so we can meet and start a local club.

See you guys around!

First gens are rare in Chicagoland.. I did see a nice and clean 2nd Gen in the Loop last week-end parked on upper Wacker. If you are looking for a 1st gen in a junk yard I dropped an 80 off in Aurora to get it out of the yard. It was my parts car..

Actually there is a 1985 RX-7 Special edition in a local yunk yard. It still has the rotary in it. Not much seemed to be missing.
According to the attendent the reason it was yunked was that it needed the clutch!?
The funny thing is that someone tried to open the hood using a crow bar or something like that. I guess they didn't know where the hood realease was. The hood release worked fine when i used it.

Yeah, hope we can find a local place to meet here one day. Anyone know of the Byron Dragway?

Awsome! Nice to contact other local RX-7 owners. Am hoping to start a local club here in Rockford so we can meet and chat and check out the cars we have. It won't matter what generation they have. It would be neat to see all the different kinds toghether. I see that at DQ they have classic car meetings on some mondays. It would be cool if one had them for RX-7!

Great knowing it was you i saw, and i hope to keep coming across more

Thanks to all the guys that reply to my posts!

A friend of mine with his greyish GSL-SE just drove through Rockford a few weeks ago. You may have seen his car.

Faye x7 told me he had a bro in the club, with an RX-7. I kind of had a feeling
it was you

Yeah, i bought the car and the salesman told me that someone had been very
interested in buying it before i came that day. It must of been your bro.

It would be very cool if we could get a local club going and do some meetings

Hope to see you guys soon!
