Another clutch...

I blew my second clutch in six months. Getting a little pissed off.

Im thinking of getting a Centerforce dual friction.

Anybody have any comments about this clutch?

Will it take a beating?

Any better clutches for less?

thats a good question. My first one only lasted three months and the disk separated. The second one that blew, I have no clue why. I will have to open it up and find out. The clutch seized engaged on the track Saturday. Im no harder on this car than I have been on any other of my 14 cars. I think I got to much power for the stock clutch.

That why Im upgrading to centerforce. I just want to know opinions of centerforce clutches.

Sounds like clutch hydraluics if its siezed engaged, unless you just cant push the pedal down, in which case it could be that the arm the throw out bearing rides on is outta place, or maybe the pressure plate fingers broke off, or maybe...

whe my clutch hydralics went out, it was on my way home from target.

going 20 miles and through two stoplights with the clutch engaged the whole time was interesting.

good thing I had a perfect tranny and a new starter.

our starters kick ***. could move and start the car from a standing stop.

I dont think its hydraulics, the pedal goes down and the slave cylinder is new, the arm fully moves the clutch just chooses not to disengage. I think the fingers and bent or broken

This is what happened after 2 months. I launched the car for the 15 time without slicks and the clutch went up in smoke and broke. Check pics and tell me what ya think.

Its a custom made piece from Euro-Drive and i have raced for many years so I know what happens when you race. I just have never ever ever broke a disc like that ever with much more powerful cars than my little 300 horse rotary, **** it did'nt even hook for god sakes.

With 300 horses you need an AST or an RPS clutch

NO kidding, I got about 180 at the flywheel and my last blown disk looked real ugly. Are stock 12a clutches prone to breaking under heavy load. I dont ride the thing I only dump on it.
