Just wanted to throw some notes out there on the RB setup..

I recently did an RB BP manifold and holley 650 setup on my GSL (sold now). I love RB, so dont take any of this the wrong way, but it seems like you have to do some custom work to get the "bolt up" parts to work.

The manifold for starters doesnt bolt up. The hex bolts on the top dont fit flush against the manifold and you have to sand/grind down the area so that they'll fit. I thought the first time I installed one of these manifolds, mine may have simply been defective. Now w/ one320fc's experience last night - with a used manifold - you could see where the previous owner did the same.

The best solution (the solution that finally worked for me) was to go to Lowe's get a set of metric allan head bolts (smaller at the top) and use them. Worked great.

Secondly, the throttle bracket sits too far from the carb. The two holes that you have to use to mount the bracket to the throttle body need to be slotted to give proper amount of adjustment in the throttle cable.

The RB stuff is great when you get it all setup, but I really think that they should mention this information on their website before selling it. OR simply make the modifications to the cast parts, OR include new hardware so you dont have to go out and get more stuff!

pics..

Just to keep this thread moving - one320fc was busy working last time, so I took a few minutes to snap some pics of the progress.

The project is moving slower do to the snags in between and the fact that its only progressing on weekends (two nights a week at most)..

Here are some new pics getting the old carb stuff out, the new carb stuff in and the fuel system, etc. Also finished up the exhaust work for now...

Haha, Bliffle why would you say that.

I understand you may be a purist to some extent but all he did was add some bolt ons that will only make the car more fun to drive. Theres nothing wrong with that, is there?

Nice build!

Sorry to hear that, but its only a little LE. I dont have the wheels!

This damn thing, it runs but I am having trouble with the manifold sealing. I have small coolant leak coming from the lower part of the manifold. I used a new gasket and o-rings.
