Amount of Vacuum Hose
I need to replace some vacuum hose in my 1985 RX-7 GSL so I just figured that I would replace all of it. It's all stock and I can't figure out how much vacuum hose I should buy or of what size. I've found it on here before but now I've done a search and can't seem to turn it up. I also briefly looked through the factory service manual and couldn't find anything. Sorry if I've missed it.

You're braver than I am. If you are going to replace all the vacuum hoses on the rat's nest, then I'd guess about 600 feet should do it.
j/k. Vacuum hose is REALLY cheap. I'd say get 8-10 feet of it and if you run out go get some more. You're probably only looking at $10-12 for it?? Good luck!

Go to the Mazdatrix web site, it tells you the exact amount of each size silicone hose that is needed, and the price isn't too bad either.... www.mazdatrix.com

By the way, Mazdatrix lists a standard length of 3.5mm and 6mm, but it's only for 12A. For my GSL-SE, I was able to do the rat's nest, vacuum advance, and OMP spider, but couldn't finish the throttle body or the lines to the firewall solenoid valves or vacuum switch. If you've got an -SE, buy double the length of the 3.5mm.

Thanks for all the quick replies and information!
I just have a GSL with a 12A, everything is stock and it's carburated. It's been idling at around 2500 RPMs for about a month now but I've been running extremely low on money lately. I figured I would start with the easy-to-do/cheap stuff, as I'm hardly educated in the world of cars.
I found a diagram of the hose routing in the factory service manual, hopefully it won't be too difficult for me to do.
