If you look at the 12A cars' rotors, you can see that it'd be impossible to press in studs from behind. GSL-SE rotors are more conventionally designed and studs can be pressed in.
They sell studs for 12A cars, they thread in from the outside. Cheezy but it works.
What's the point of lug bolts? VW used them too. Is it just one part doing the work of two? I've noticed little things like the distributor hold down nut and stud was replaced with a bolt for the RX-7s, same with the slave cylinder. I prefer studs on the tranny for mounting slave cylinders (seen a couple with stipped out threads thanks to crappy mechanics).
Most European cars use lug bolts.
Lug bolts are FAR less likely to rust in place like lug nuts. I've NEVER had problems with them. They're more of a pain when trying to line the wheel up and thread the bolts in, but I'd rather deal with that then deal with siezed/stripped/galled studs and nuts.

I like studs and nuts ... I'd rather change out a stud then redrill and tap a sheared bolt ... lining up the wheels when you putting them back on is major pain in the *** too !
