Am i asking too much?

i didn't know if i was asking too much for my car

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=479237

or if i would be better to part the thing out. Opinions please. I am pretty sure i could sell everything from the car, but i rather do it as one deal.

thanks

If I didn't just buy myself I project I would pick it up in a heartbeat if it were lower of course.

You should post up some interior shots!

yep, too much.

most of the time modifications add NO value to a car. look at the price of something you added(new) and look at the price of the original part from mazda(new) and you'll see why.

however the car is very nice, i would try 2,000.

That's way too low.

I think it's worth the $3800, you're just going to have to be patient.

the best you can do for yourself is part out the performance and replace those with stock, then sell the car stock (if you saved stock pieces that is)

sure the car is worth that to someone..the owner obviously, and maybe someone else out there.

but he has a better chance with either lowering the price, or as mentioned...taking the parts off and selling them seperatly.

Sure, that's true. He can lower the price, or he can take off the parts... But 2,000 is lowballing him.

It's straight, it has good paint, lots of mods... I see people asking 2k for FBs that are in shitty condition. If he sells it for under $3200, it's a shame.

Here:

This one is nice, totally stock, but nice.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=682

Here's a totally stock one with 154,000 miles:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=2470

Here's another $2k FB:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=2552

$2500 for this one:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...0&cardist=2566

And none of those are as nice as Qs.

Now do you see why $2k is low balling him?

i would never pay more than 1k for a 1st gen anyway, so what i say doesn't mean so much

i buy fixer uppers, having fun making the car the way you want it to be has more value to me

its worth it but a little on the high side. i could see you realistically getting 3200 maybe more to the right person.
whats the deal with the greddy air/fuel gauge?is it a wideband or just damn expensive?

I think the price is fine... but if you have to move it quick then you may have to move the price as well.

i got mine for 1500 and its perfect GSL stock not even a dent and interior is perfect

I'd say lower it to $3200. That'd be my bottom price for it. A friend of mine just sold his stock -SE for 3k. I had a $400 paint job, and no radio. He sold it for $3k in 2 days.

what did he use to sell it? Local paper, ebay, word of mouth??

its $80 to sell on ebay (yikes!)
Don't know if there is enough intrest locally to spend $50 to put it in the paper.

$3800 seems reasonable to me...car looks pretty clean on the outside but your really going to need some decent interior and engine shots...

Agreed. That car is basically finished from most 7 buyers' point of view, other than a gray interior swap =). Those are tasteful and valuable mods. I would sit on it and wait for your buyer rather than take an even greater loss on what you have in it. I imagine you can not drive it for awhile longer.

For what you have there, $3800 is fair. $3200-3k if you remove say the stereo system, and maybe some other parts, but no lower than that. You may want to consider selling it in the spring, of after the holidays.

Money is tight right now for everyone, and with the approaching holidays and ****, no one is going to **** away any more than they have to for a car. Thats just how I would look at it. If you can wait till spring, do so and sell it at the optimal market time, or at least after the holidays when people have recieved holiday cash as a gift, LOL.

Later,
~Chris

yes! people are more willing to buy a car to have fun in in the Spring when they can. plus the darker earlier thing only depresses people. if you can, wait till spring.

Nice car!

have you tried any local car sales publications that allow pics? Your car is very attractive, and being able to have pics with the ad should make a big difference in what happens.
