Alternator

Can anyone explain what the lower wire on the two pin plug goes to on a first gen 12a alternator?

Top terminal, Black/white to ignition switch. Bottom terminal, White/black to dash warning light.

Yes, you can

You will need my pulley to make it work though

You can replace it with a FD alternator. I used the pulley from Japan2LA to put one on my 84. Works great. The wiring is a little different. FD still has two terminals in the plug but not in a T. Bottom terminal still goes to warning light (Black/white wire), but top wire needs constant 12V, not switched 12v (White/black wire). Easy way is to leave the White/black terminal (top) on the plug empty and connect a wire from the top terminal on the alternator to the large White/red wire where it connects to the alternator. I'll get a picture if you need it.
