No you do not get them, hence them not being in the kit.

I was just commenting that those looked like gilmer pulleys and not standard rx7 v-pulleys

That isn't a gilmer setup -- it's a serpentine, which is a much better option for a side mount. A gilmer is a good solution when you don't have much belt wrap, but it's louder and more expensive. Since this kit gives you plenty of belt wrap, a serpentine is optimal.

I bought this old pineapple racing bracket for $60 from a forum member. Check out the old school for sale section and first gen section. You see em go up on there every once in awhile. The Atkins kit looks like a good setup, especially for that price.

If you look at an RX-8, it uses a serpentine belt with the alternator in the top location. This is what I'm running on my 13B-RE, with the original Cosmo serpentine pulleys and the RX-8 belt. It seems to work fine. Serpentine belts provide more grip than V-belts.

If you're giving up A/C, Power Steering, Air Pump, etc., the extra belt wrap the side mount gives you is a good thing. Something to remember is that the stiffness of the side mount bracketry is very important. If you look at your A/C bracket, it's very hefty -- and it's made out of steel. There's a reson for that. The harmonics the alternator can generate in that position on a rotary engine can destroy the bracket if it isn't very stiff. The Atkins arrangement looks very good. If I hadn't already used up the real estate that kit requires, I'd probably buy one.

Dan, will your kit work with my 140 amp GM alternator? I have the old Pineapple Racing kit, but it seems a little flimsey.
