ok so i won an auction for an s5 alt on ebay for a good price and im working on getting the electrical plug from one of the second gen guys and got to thinking since this alt puts out more amps do i need to upgrade my battery or can i use the one i've got?

 

Only thing that the battery is there for is to start the car so the answer to your question is no you do no have to upgrade your battery.
