Can you guys help me understand the sunroof connection
It has come time to deal with some little things on the car.
The sunroof has never been 'connected' on the car. There is a **** on the bottom and connection points on top, Im wondering what part is missing so I can order one or buy one from someone.
I have this on the bottom
and it needs to connect to these red things connection points

The sunroof is evil.
If I rember right there are actually 3 levers that you need to move to open the thing. Never had a problem with it closing though.
its pretty late tonight Ill go take photos first thing in the morning. But from the looks of your pic Id say you have the assy in the lower photo installed sideways.

It sounds like you are missing the top plate of the sunroof **** mechanism. If the part attached to the body of the car has four holes, instead of four Philips screws that go through a metal plate, you are definitely missing at least one piece.
Here's a pic of what the attachment on the removable sunroof panel should look like:
I don't have a pic of the top of the body side of the mechanism, but can take one after I get home tonight if no one else covers it first.
The body-side top plate (which you seem to be missing) has a pair of pins that stick out horizontally left and right; those pins engage in the slots you see on the roof-side mechanism, and are locked in by the two square red buttons. The third red latch is a safety catch that hooks under the plate you are missing.
To remove the roof, you raise it with the ****, then push in the two square buttons, push up about a half-inch, and release the safety catch. Then the roof rotates forward and lifts off.
