Exclamation All you non V8 Bast**ds Lied to me about my Handling?

I just weighed the stock 13B out of the car then We just weighed the 5.0 that’s going in, with all the things we didn’t need. PS pump. Air Pump. Idler pulley and Flow-Tech Headers.

What do you think…….After hearing all ( Some of the Bull shiters ) .. I had to check it for my self.

I will throw in a twist… 13x.5.5 wheels Changed to 17x7.5 F 20x 9.5 R and the battery in the back... Here is the Question! How much weight do you think it Changed?

(This was for all the Kids out there that don’t really know what there talking about. I’m not reading this stuff thinking I’m right. I am going out and doing it Hands on GUY.)

410lbs including turbos and all accesories, PS, AC , airpump etc. IIRC.

I remember people who weighed them in the past, and it seemed to me there wasnt much of a difference, if not the rotary weighing more due to cast iron housings, stock exhaust manifolds, etc. Most people just assume the V8 engines weigh more because theyre "bigger", although I dont actually remember for certain. A lot of people are so argumentative about the swap that they will use any excuse they can to back up the fact that they arent open minded. I personally would never do it to my car, but I can respect those who do, especially the cool swaps that look really good!

people want me to put my 350 in my rx-7(iam not gunna do) i dont think of it as doing anything bad to the seven but besides losing its main quality. we all know that V8 are powerful and are ment for heavier cars but knowing that a powerful engine can fit in a leight car makes people want to do it. All you guys hating on people that take out the rotary engine who cares they know its gunna give them more power and most people that do this conversion drag race the cars. I dont see why every one has to get mad at this its not like they took your car and did the swap

To each their own I say.I dont care what you swap in,if its done well and you enjoy it,then more power to you.Camp bickering and hatred is below real gearheads.
Rotaries are dense.Think about all the open space inside the V-8, inside the crankcase, cylinders and valley. Its no wonder their large. The rotary has almost no empty space, making them a wonder of space saving. What they do have is eight very dense parts that fit together in very close proximity, only 2 of which are aluminum.

If you notice, he has those thumbnails attached to practically every post he makes, he never claims it to be his. It looks a lot like the 4 rotor drag car I have a video of running. Looks like you just PWN3D yourself.

I have video of that thing running 9's at a NIRA event here in seattl back when it was Seattle International Raceway! Like 1998 and ****... Look at the sticker on the rear. "University Mazda Seattle" That dealer was the 1st Mazda dealer in the US and they're right around the corner from me...

In before the lock, you would think you would learn your lesson... Your first thread was banned because it would stir things up so you post the same thing again? Wow you really are not making a good reputation for yourself...

Well said, and I agree whole heartedly. I was a gearhead long before the rotary come into production, and I still have a fondness for V8's and muscle cars.

Many forums members may not care for the mods I am doing on my current project, but if they can't respect the work and effort that goes into such a project, then maybe it's time for them to take a look at thier maturity.

While we all have our own likes, dislikes and opinions, respect for others and thier work will make this community much stronger and much more pleasant to be a part of.

I can respect the fact that someone is taking the time and money, and all the effort to put a V8 into an fb, but I stil think it suddenly takes away a certain quality to the car. Its not an RX anymore, its just a small shell with a V8. There are a LOT of small cars that are by far lighter than the rx7, if I wanted to do a V8 swap, I would do it in one of those, the RX is meant to have a rotary in it, thats just how I feel, and how a lot of rotary lovers feel. I bought this car for its unique engine. And I still don't see why not get a 13bt/t and put it in the fb, i can bet you its going to run at least relatively close to a V8.

Read my post carefully. Giving respect to someone else's work, or ideas is a much more civil and mature path, even if it isn't given in the first place or returned in the second.

I am not pointing fingers at anyone, I am expressing my opinion and experience on the subject of respect and maturity and how I was raised to treat others.
